July 30, 2005 - 7:00pm Michael Gulezian continues to amaze fellow musicians as well as those new to the art of the acoustic guitar. If you've never heard of Michael Gulezian, you're in for a very pleasant surprise! The reviews of Michael Gulezian's music speak volumes: Jazziz Magazine publisher Michael Fagien describes his recent album Language of the Flame as "unbelievable ... incredible ... music from another planet." Grammy award winning producer Richard Adler writes, "Michael Gulezian composes, arranges, and performs some of the most complex and emotional music ever written for solo acoustic guitar." Music Web Express raves, “With the release of Language of the Flame, Gulezian takes his place among the great acoustic guitar innovators of the 20th Century.” And in Acoustic Guitar Magazine, John Diliberto sums it all up: “Fingerstyle fire … Michael Gulezian reignites his muse with Language of the Flame. ... for all his virtuosic ferocity, [he] never loses sight of the melody, or the drama of his compositions. And he can still play sweetly. At this stage in his career, Gulezian doesn’t need to prove he can play, he just needs more people to hear his expansive and original sound." Finally, me, Jim Wolcott, acting as "WebMaster" of the Fine Fretted Friends website... I have two of Michael's albums permanently stored on my Apple iPod, as "relaxing, wonderful, inspiring driving music whilst in the car." And I listen to his stuff frequently. He's amazing, and can rip life into a guitar like few I've ever heard. If there's any way you can attend this concert, do so. Call your Emergency BabySitter. Tell your boss that you're sick. Cancel appointments. Just be there. Trust me on this one. You won't be sorry! Michael Gulezian has a website with some sample audio clips at www.timberlinemusic.com.
